It was a great weekend for dining outside but Umbertos was so packed it didn't matter where we ate..inside or out. I had the Eggplant Parm and baked clams for an appetizer. For drink it was a Peroni. Tasty! After that zipped over down Arthur Ave to get some treats for my coworkers, family and myself.

If you want to order online and don't want to trek to the Bronx you can check out this site here for gift baskets and maybe read up on some local history.

"
Alaska Native whalers, who have chased belugas for generations, agreed Monday to cancel their annual hunt for the third time in nine years" I think they made a wise choice.

I went a little bonkers on iTUNES. I couldn't stop myself. New Bjork, new Tori Amos, new NIN, new Nick Cave..new new new..it was like months of nothing and now we are being attacked.
Friday the 13th turned out to be a pretty good day.
I bought the new ARTnews...read a bunch of magazines and had some guy next to me snoring throughout the entire process. A bunch of guys slammed on the store window..why I don't know..maybe to wake up the guy...it didn't work. I think it scared me more than captain snore-o-matic.

My Flickr.com is about to end and I need to do a major backup.
This is going to take a while.

"The oceans hold many secrets about the past, present, and future"

Another reason why I don't swim in our ocean. Now I know why my metal detector used to go off..I always thought it was a tin can. I would beep like crazy but I never found anything..

"
About a month ago it was discovered that mixed in with the 500,000 cubic yards of sand dredged from the ocean floor were several unexploded military fuses"
Surf City, NJ

Read more info here :LBI beach bombs

While they dredge and open a can of worms here is a bill
that was passed on March 29th. Ocean Exploration Bill.

truthout.org explains more in detail...
A drop of nerve agent can kill within a minute. When released in the ocean
it lasts up to six weeks, killing every organism it touches before breaking
down into its nonlethal chemical components.

Mustard gas can be fatal. When exposed to seawater it forms a
concentrated, encrusted gel that lasts for at least five years,
rolling around on the ocean floor, killing or contaminating sea life.
