Ok, so I figured I would give this a shot so you better participate. This will only be up for a total of two entire days which means you better be swift. I made a variety of eight different Sloth Valentine Cards and each one is hand drawn. Even the inside of each card is unique. I left enough space so one can draw, stamp, or write a little poetry if you wish. Maybe you just would like to frame one and put it on your desk or hang in your bathroom. I really admired Steve Jobs and even got a bit chickened out at a Mac conference YEARS ago at the Javitz Center. If I remember correctly it was for the first all in one iMac. I was checking to see if the net was hooked up to the comps in the show area, sent my friend an email, turned around and Steve was standing there right behind me. He smiled, I smiled and we nodded. I wish I said something to him, but I guess sometimes you don't need words to communicate. Rest in Peace Steve, your idea will never die.

I have been reading Designing with Web Standards (third edition) and learning a few tricks. Expensive book but worth the price cause it fuels a local family and it was also a late Christmas gift. So far I have reached page 85... Majority of my reading is online but for some strange reason when it comes to computer books, I tend to enjoy these in the printed variety.

Didn't have much luck with doing design work for a friend. Also didn't realize he was selling it till I checked on a local forum. Pretty rotten if you ask me..I know if it were my friend I would of paid them or at least sent them a CD for their portfolio.

So the iBook G4 battery finally kicked the bucket. Time to invest in a new one. I have alot of things to invest in it seems..including myself. I really should be reading this book..

I can't remember if this it the fourth of fifth snowstorm this season. On top of that I heard that it is supposed to snow again on Tuesday. Maybe I haven't been paying attention but this seems to be like alot of snowstorms in a short amount of time. Maybe it would seem different if I had a fancy snowblower, but to be honest a little shoveling isn't so bad and it is sorta peaceful when it is early in the morning.

In about two hours it will be 1/11/11. I mentioned Verizon Wireless getting the iPHONE and we will get to finally experience this after years of waiting. It is like a hibernating bear finally reaching the honeypot. For years I watched people talk and chat about the iPhone and felt rather left out as a Mac user of old.

I have also decided to join Facebook. I know that the majority of my friends will be surprised. As much as I do not like the policies that change overnight I have to suck it up and deal with it because Myspace is about to explode. Many years ago in a .com land there was Facebook and from what I remember you had to have an invite from a friend to use their site. So I banned them in my own way by not using their services. I didn't need Facebook, Friendster, Classmates or any of that extra stuff. I just wanted my own site. However, with non-tech friends and family we have to be a sheep sometimes. baaa

Recently I went on a interview in the city but that didn't turn out so well, but I look at it as a bonus. It was only part time and the pay was very minimal. Also I wouldn't really be learning anything new.

Today zincink.net, zincink.org, and zincink.co were born. I should of done that ages ago, more like ten years ago, but better late then never.

Somehow I had a feeling the minute I bought a new iPOD, that an upgrade would be right around the corner. Now we just have to wait until the iPHONE comes to Verizon Wireless territory sometime in January. I was rooting for the Google Nexus but that seemed to die rather swiftly. It sure has been a long wait though..

We thought it was a good idea to finally get rid of those VHS tapes that have been taking up space. I didn't find much information online on how to go about this, so we cheated and got Elgato Video Capture and it was beyond easy and plus it has S-video. It was pretty much a no-brainer with nice quality. We bought a similar product at Radio Shack but that was for PC only and the PC we have is collecting cobwebs. I uploaded a few vids to Youtube, but you know Youtube and their slant on copyright so I try my best not to piss them off...

In show news we have the Subcon Beyond Fest 2010. If you are unfamiliar with the style of music you can click on the sample link. I haven't really taken stats of who exactly is reading my blog but it is nice to educate others and share. Isn't that what a blog was made for ? I provided links to purchase tickets and all of you should be lucky they are not supporting Ticketbastard. Hell, you should just buy a ticket just for that simple reason.

It has been so long that I forgot which font I use for this blog. Are blogs dead? Anyway, recently the President visited the area and ate at a local sub shop. I still wonder why he chose that specific area...and if he even ate the sub. Also, I have noticed that my own area has been getting some positive and negative press. I found out after the fact that the town also had life drawing classes. I am not even sure where they post this kind of stuff.

Our Amana fridge decided to keel over once again, and even with extended warranty it took about almost two weeks to get it fixed. First to diagnose and then wait for a part. It is not fun living out of two coolers for that extended amount of time. I think this is the third time this has happened and I swear if it happens again I will send a laser guided missle right at it..hahah

I have been busy with photos for Wierd Records even though my flash is in a coma-like state. So many bands and tons of music to digest and I can never get enough of it. I realized last week I have been doing this for a year now.

Sold a few things on eBAY and got my first negative comment. I offered that person a full refund and they said they didn't want to get on the bus to return it, so they gave me a negative. Can't please everyone...

I made some new Youtube videos for fun using Internet Archive materials. I have used an ohGr track before and figured why not continue on a similar path.

Didn't win the lottery but did get two matching numbers. I have noticed they updated the xtranormal site. I signed up for Ribbit but they were too slow to add me to their list so I just used Google Voice instead being they didn't make me wait for weeks and weeks. I also created a Google Banner for iGoogle but I can't seem to find where they post all of the samples. I did a search but nothing came up for my name. I was thinking maybe they do a weekly server update for search items..but that can't be right.. I guess if you want it I can just send it to you..just leave a comment or email.

Went to Williamsburg last night to see a friend play at The Cove. I don't think they even tried to shovel the walkway or pave the road. I did however find a decent spot to park and then realized that I have to skate about six blocks to the venue. Oops! As soon as I exited the car I saw a guy fall flat on his butt in the road so I was hoping I didn't do the same and took my sweet time walking/shuffling on the ice.

I have to go through about five hundred photos and choose which are suited best for posting online. The show on Saturday I would say was a success, being it was the first.

Seems like a busy week. I did some freelance but haven't heard back from the person (this is why freelance is evil). If you haven't heard from them you begin to wonder if they just forgot about it or fell into some black hole where all the resumes go....Kind of like the unknown sock dimension

We have been snowed in!
I missed my weekly Wierd fest but went outside and kept busy while taking photos in the snow and shoveling. In a nearby town a man who does snow plowing for the township found a missing SEAL. A SEAL! I still can't believe that...They have photos of this seal..wish they had better ones but beggars can't be choosers.

What have I been working on..where do I begin? Well as you can see I updated some of the graphics and cleaned up the house a bit.

I finished my Dead Voices on Air vinyl packaging working with both Lens Records and Konigsberg:Brudenia Records. I would like to give a big thanks to Mark Spybey for letting me work on his first vinyl release for DVOA. You can hear some of the new music on their myspace page.

I think it is semi safe to vent on my own blog. I pay my host to protect most of my personal information. I happened to do a search and noticed these sites, I will called them personal metadata collectors, gathering my site information. Not sure what purpose that would serve them, so I registered for a few. Perhaps that was a bad move but who knows at this point in time. Maybe I will regret that later..

I think I might have fell off the blog bandwagon. Does anyone even read this?

I would have to say that looking for jobs through Craigslist is like wandering in spam soup. I have not receive one reply in months. Not one..Perhaps I have too much info out there..maybe I should go underground and not even mention my site. I can tell you this, when I use my first initial and last name I seemed to get more replies. I guess they will just have to be surprised when I show up and I am a female. A friend of mine said he had the same issue. Maybe it is time to just get out of this tri-state area. The majority of people I know who still have a job work in either healthcare or have a teaching career. If I wasn't living here I would probably be homeless. Perhaps Gen X are just waiting for the babyboomer generation to retire. Eh, we'll see.

I wasn't sure how the weather was going to be last night but I am glad it didn't rain. I'm telling ya I couldn't see to give away my extra ticket for the show. I even went as far and posting it on Craigslist and FREE. I guess people thought it was a scam. Oh well, they missed out. The parking was lame-tastic. Two filled lots for paid parking five dollars and up. The rest of the meters were filled so I parked a ways away and walked. I noticed cops were out in full force waiting to ticket. So I scootched my way up to the front and took a bunch of photos. Some lady asked me how I brought in my camera cause they didn't let her in with hers..I guess it was just luck. It is not like I am going to go make Southside Johnny bootleg stickers and t-shirts. Otherwise, great show and a laid back crowd of all ages.

I went on an all out NIN - Janes Addiction/Wave Goodbye show extravaganza by purchasing tickets for two shows, and I am glad I did cause each one was unique. I live not too far away from NYC about 35-40 minutes, and the first show was in Camden which is a bit of a drive. Ok I will be honest, the drive seems like forever. Please Artists..if you want NY and Northern Jersey to come to your show..do NOT play in Camden. There is a reason why we live up this way. Technically Camden should be called defunkt Philly.

Anywhoooo, the staff at Camden were very friendly and helpful. I can't say the same for Holmdel which is closer to my house. Sorry Holmdel..your staff sucks in the department of being helpful. Six different employees pointing at the sky is not helping us find our seats in the darkness. Yes it was a full moon. I'll blame it on that..

Here are a few of my photos. I took about 300 photos but most of them were quick shots cause I wanted to enjoy the show instead of "work". Sometimes I think people forget how to enjoy a show cause they are so tied up with their gadgets. We want to document the great times, but I think it is getting out of hand.

I saw Throbbing Gristle at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple the other night and even got a parking spot 10 steps away from the building. Score! I am not sure if there was air conditioning cause I was boiling like a lobster in a pot. I would def go there again for a show..and it took no time to drive there..

I happened to go to discogs and saw a ..GASP! banner ad! NJ.com is also a big time abuser of ads and that is why I do not use their site for the news. After my banner ad abuse, I went to engadget mobile and..MORE ads! A slew of them flashing and blinking and then scrolling down it was what one might call navigation HELL.

Yahoo, if you are doing one thing right..its Flickr. That tinypic is total garbage and the quality and navigation is lame and looks unprofessional. When I read Yahoo was having layoffs in the Flickr department it made me think twice. Should I be posting my photos here? Will this eventually lead to a crash and burn effect? Time will tell...and I am hoping for the best.

I have to say, it was pretty funny watching E! Entertainment News with my 87 year old grandma. Usually regular news is on the television, but today after dinner I hung out and witnessed and assortment of healthcare commercials. Erectile disfunction is not a commercial I expect to see while watching television with Grams. We both agreed that it is rather embarrasing. The graphics on the show kept flying at rapid speed and flashing and I swear to you it was giving me a headache, so retaliated and saved myself from television epilepsy. So much for TV...

Probably because it took the average computer user a few years to figure out how to do more research online. I wouldn't doubt half of them are stealing music, movies etc to keep up with the Jones. Just look at youtube and the way people glamorize their computers. I am surprised nobody robbed their houses yet. Question is, they have all of this, but do they know how to use it...

I know one day my eMAC is just going to up and die a slow computer death. It is making that scary fan noise like when I first got it..so everything is already backed up. I was reading some of the eMAC Apple forums and it seems many people had screen issues as well, but the machine is so old the only thing it can become is a server, internet radio player, or a very large piece of Apple art. The other day the screen was wobbling to the music in the left hand corner so that worried me a bit. Many years ago I got it home and dragged its heavy plastic case up the stairs, plugged it in, and *POOF* the screen went out. [my luck] I tortured the warranty people and they came out to fix it. Thank you :) I can't complain..this machine has been great and in terms of computers, its ancient now. I wouldn't mind getting a monthra sized screen though hmmmm ...

My Youtube Background Error story:

I am not really a HUGE fan of Youtube, I enjoy both Youtube and Vimeo but I really don't create alot video so....anyway I tried to upload a background image and I really should have known better. I have to applaud them for forcing the user to upload a small background image. No longer will we have to wait ten years for a page to load because "joe user" doesn't realize that size does matter.

So I took my chances, didn't want to repeat my image so I created mine to their specs and I get "Not a Proper HTML Color". Ok..No way in flaming hell did I screw that one up...So I trek over to the HELP section and click on the little box that is similar to my problem. This really doesn't tell them anything...this only says it isn't working..I can't even tell the admin WHAT exactly isn't working. So now I am on a mission..I went to the Google forum, can't sign up for that cause I am not a "current member of that specific forum"..guess I have to wait to get approved?¿

Sometimes I can't believe I used to draw on punchcards and use Fortran sheets as doodle paper. I guess I was recycling without even realizing. There was a time where I was still in the womb while my Mom used Fortran on a terminal. I didn't know what those giant machines were, I knew they made ALOT of noise and looked rather spacey. Flourescent green text on a black background..not exactly pleasing to the eyes.

I don't know how many of you live with an older relative, but I stumbled upon this and thought you might like to see it. Sometimes I think of the age gap between me and my grandmother. Most people live away from their grandparents, or they passed away. I don't mind listening to their stories or maybe sharing a good laugh. I guess people just tend to ignore that they still have feelings.

Ok, I was up at the crack of dawn to call the Unemployment Office and today and yesterday both phones claim they are toooooo busy to take calls, and to call back at the SAME number. It is 7am..I highly doubt there are a million callers. I decide to call the other 609 number, and that one gives me a busy signal like its 1985. The site isn't working so now I have to sail myself down into the pits of doom and physically go there, get a number, and hope nobody gives me a parking ticket.

Well, I have orange glitter stuck to my fingers. Note to self, use talc powder so spray glue doesn't get all over your hands. I snagged some uber cheap pumpkins at Lowe's for about three bucks a pop..can't beat that, and zoomed my way over to the craft store to get some trinkets.

I haven't updated in a while so I thought it would be a good time to add things that have been going on..
Well, I am doing freelance with an Australian company and using Pageflex. I had to get a random PC because the Mac I am using can't use PC software. So, I am using an ancient variety DELL (dude its a dell hehe) Windows XP 2002. Don't laugh! :)

I had to reimage it and update the software. Now its time to network..

circa 1994 before the construction began..
At the time I took these photos [2004] it was a ghost town and I only had a mini Olympus digital camera. I have a few photos I took as a kid with y first camera, a 110 film no flash Japanese model my aunt gave to me for Christmas. I remember sitting in on the backseat of the 1966 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible off to the Hot Rod show in Asbury. I didn't get many pictures due to the fact it was raining. If I remember right that day I met Big Daddy Roth and ate pizza downstairs in the hall. Today the beach is open and rebuilding has taken place.

Today is pure luck. While I happened to look at my car the other day I noticed I hit a small screw and it lodged itself into the tire. yay. (sarcastic). So this morning I ventured to my local Firestone repair shop. They took in the car pronto and said I would need a new tire and he cost with repair would be approx..345. Ok, well I decided to call the dealer itself. The tire along would be 295 without repair. EEeep! I got in my car again and whizzed over to another place..guy said he would have to order the tire..(no thanks). My last stop, a place right near my house. I went inside and the lady came out to see the size and make. She said to pull the car around so the mechanic could look at it. He took his bubbles and poured it on the tire..nothing..so he pulled out the screw and poof. The screw was short enough that it didn't puncture the tire. Lucky me.

I felt that luck was on my side and got a scratch off (which is rare), and I won and won again and again! I bought myself a Slurpee and drove back home. I was satisfied.

Now time to pay attention to my hair routine. swoooosh...

Do you need a bed that will discourage guests from overextending their welcome? Perhaps something that will encourage your in-laws to leave before you have to kick them out in a semi-homicidal rage?

Well, then, this is the bed for you. It's a 3-year-old, full-size Serta innerspring mattress and box spring (with frame!) and is possibly the most painful thing I have ever slept on. Friends ask how I endured nearly two years of nightly torture, and to them I say, "I honestly have no idea, I'm just glad it's over."

Thanks to some friends and a van, I have procured a new bed and have finally tossed out the old one. It will be picked up by waste management early Tuesday morning, so act quickly. It's between Monmouth and Brunswick on the south side of 5th street, and while it is from a smoke-free, pet-free home and doesn't have any bugs or anything of the sort, it IS the world's most uncomfortable bed, so pick it up only if you know what you're getting yourself into.

I watched this and remembered when I was a kid and took tap and ballet. My teacher was Madeline Andre, a very strict dancing teacher. She would send us home with the proper pronunciation booklets that contained the french terms for each dance step and then would use those same terms in class.

Her husband was an artist and he passed away. As a child I was given his drawing books and some supplies...I kept these as safe keeping just to remember how some people can be inspiring.

She also designed her own costumes , picked the fabric and guess who (ma) would have to sew this costume from scratch. Grams would come into this equation because she was a former seamstress and worked as an inspector checking WWII parachutes.

As a child I always enjoyed the arts..music, art, dance or just plain being creative. I think it is sad that the arts are not taken seriously enough in schools.

Listening to the radio last night on the way home they were talking about putting cameras to catch people running amber lights/red lights. The bill was trying to be passed..once in the day..and for another "go around" in the evening. Not sure if this bill went through or not. Let us just say that the average rent in central/northern NJ is about $900. I can't say I am "raking in the dough" so my only option would be to rent a room or a studio the size of a small refrigerator box.

To scour Craigslist is a tricky situation.
You have to filter out the garbage and make
sure there are no double posts with different
rent amounts, scams, or men looking
for dates. (Yes this happened once.)

Photos are a bonus if you are lucky.
You can probably forget about pets.
If you happen to find one out
of ten places and they email you back,
your percentage of actually seeing it with
your own eyes is 1 in 10.

To visually see the apartment is an event
not to be missed. Bring along a friend or
relative so later while eating dinner you
can laugh about the drunken landlord,
or reminisce about the broken down
shack where the landlord doesn't
even attempt to show up.

Good times to be had by all.

So with all that info and getting some small

day I will find my shack of creativity.

What to be for Halloween. hmmm...

Been listening to Pandora.com instead of Hype Machine because it customizes music to similar styles and it runs pretty well on this machine at work without any hiccups. They both have their purpose.

I signed up for that Twitter a while ago but never followed up on it. It would be best used for freelance work so the client could keep tabs on what is finished and what is still in the process.
